Starting from today, the first day of a brand new year, Incendo is sharing the benefits of practising mindfulness with a post every day for 10 days. This series of posts is called ’10 cool things that mindful people do’ and coincides with other features Incendo is sharing on social media.
No. 1 They practise being curious
People who practise mindfulness remain curious about their experiences. For example, they are open to noticing how they feel emotionally and observing what kind of thoughts are going through their head. Moment by moment, they are able to notice how their body actually feels. Practising curiosity helps mindful people avoid the ‘automatic pilot’ habit of judging experiences as either good or bad. Curiosity also enables them to approach uncertainty in their everyday life with a positive attitude. Several research studies show that cultivating a curious attitude can help to curb our general anxieties.
